Daily Review: Passing through Perfect by Bette Lee Crosby

Passing through Perfect will give you the insight of how the color of your skin will dictate your life. Where you eat, shop, love, and murder!

Passing through Perfect is a heart-wrenching, Southern family saga that starts on the night Benjamin fell madly and completely in love with Delia. Once he tasted the sweetness of her kiss, he envisioned them spending the rest of their life together.

He didn’t stop to consider her daddy was a learned Pastor and her mama a woman with a college degree; he only knew she set his heart to racing. When he touched his mouth to hers, he forgot the hardships of being a sharecropper, forgot what it was like to work from dawn ‘til dark and forgot that nothing in Grinder’s Corner ever really changed.

Benjamin’s only thoughts were about lying together every night, sitting side by side on the front porch, and raising a family. Yes, he knew there’d be heartaches. Every couple had their share of heartaches, it was to be expected; but he never imagined such a tragedy would befall their family.

Passing through Perfect will not only take your breath away, it will change your soul. The book is beautifully written from the early 1940 era in the Deep South of Alabama. Benjamin Church is a colored man coming home from the war.

He hears of the death of his moma he knows he must go home to be a farmer like his daddy. There he meets the woman Delia, the woman he knows he wants to marry.

Passing through Perfect will give you the insight of how the color of your skin will dictate your life. Where you eat, shop, love, and murder!

Passing through Perfect will teach you about love, friendships, and racism.

Passing through Perfect will change your heart and soul forever. Benjamin Church and his story will live with you long after you close the book.

This is the third book in Bette Lee Crosby Wyattsville series, you can read alone or I would suggest reading ALL her books as you never read an author who will grab your heart and take you on a journey you will never forget.

Passing through Perfect will not only take your breath away, it will change your soul. The book is typically good book from Bette Lee Crosby, she always manages to capture the emotions of her characters so well.

Her wide variety of settings and situations never catches her out, each book I have read, has read as if she herself experienced the drama that she unfolds.

This story addresses the age-old problem of racial prejudice in a very authentic and sensitive manner, and Bette Lee has managed to bring a happy conclusion that is usually unattainable. A very worthwhile read.
