Review by Millie: Stacy Eaton has done it again by bringing an absolute gem to shelves. This is a story that had me screaming at the main characters at times, but I was with them every step of the way.

Told from two points of view, first Rachel’s, she is stuck in what I can only describe as a lethargic marriage, there is no love, no sparks its just meh!! Then she meets Grant, the sexy and charismatic stranger in a store that just happens to be the father of Rachel’s son Josh’s, crush. The younger characters are just as likable as the grown ups, some very funny scenes in this story that had me chuckling.

Rachel and Grant’s world is turned upside down through some very traumatic events and you are left wondering how either of them can get through this. I won’t spoil it though, the story is told exceptionally well, you are drawn in and if you like a good romance with one heck of a twist, then you will thoroughly enjoy this book.

Review by Pat Fordyce: Ms. Eaton’s novels always fascinate me. Her topics vary between paranormal, police procedural and suspense, with some hot romance to add some spice.
She tests your imagination, your heart and your belief’s. Distorted Loyalty is a wonderful novel that keeps you guessing from the first page to the last. The novel is told in alternating viewpoints so you see both sides of the events.

Rachel Wilde is on a lunch date with her son Josh, planning to do some last minute Christmas shopping. He’s looking for something to give to a girl at school and they head to the local Bath shop to find a gift. Josh is totally uncomfortable in the shop, especially when the girl he wants a gift for, Jazzy (Jazlyn) Murphy wanders in with her Dad. There is a brief meeting, and even a little bit of harmless flirting between Rachel and Grant Murphy until a commotion and some loud shouting catches their attention. Rushing out they see a woman has been hit by a car.

Rachel is an E.R. doctor and goes immediately into action. She knows this woman has little hope, but Rachel does not give up. She is shocked to find out it is actually Grant’s wife and Jazzie’s mother. Later after pronouncing her dead in the ER, Rachel goes to tell the family and is immediately faced with Grant’s grief and anger, actually accusing her of not doing enough. As much as she enjoyed their flirting a short time ago, she leaves Grant hoping to never see him again. Fate has other ideas.

Grant Murphy’s world has been rocked. He is a police detective and understands how fragile life can be. He apologizes to Rachel and they reach an understanding and the start of a friendship. His life is now focused on Jazzie’s welfare and happiness.

When cleaning out some of his wife’s things he discovers credit cards, bills and even pictures that indicate his wife was having an affair. His anger has now replaced the grief, and he wants to know more. The more he finds out, the more lies he realizes he has been living with.

This novel makes you ask yourself intriguing questions, is there life after death, Heaven or Hell, can you meet people who have passed before you when you die? There are twists and turns, sometimes shocking events and you can’t imagine how this could possibly turn out! Ms. Eaton never lets us down.
