An Author Collection Novel
Southern Investigation, a firm of commercial private investigators, founded and operated by three Vietnam vets and the widow of a Vietnam vet, is a successful low profile company whose clients are insurance companies and corporate law firms. S.I. has maintained a low profile for eighteen years. That changed the day two of the principles of the company broke up the attempted robbery of a convenience store. In the ensuing gunfight, one partner, David Hendricks, was seriously wounded, and the other, Bill Simmons, decided to drive him to a hospital rather than wait for an ambulance. Half way to the hospital, Bill realized that David wasn’t going to make it unless a miracle saved him. Seconds later a radio call offering a medevac to the hospital came through their CB radio. On the flight to the hospital, Bill, a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, realized the two choppers that were transporting him and David had been destroyed in Vietnam in 1968. Their crews, the Long Range Recon Patrol they were attempting to rescue, and an Army nurse who had volunteered for the mission, had been officially listed as Missing In Action for almost twenty years.
Southern Investigation is the story of three men, a woman, and a dog, who are willing to do the right thing no matter what the risk or how slim the odds for success.
