C.A. Larmer: One of the Top Ten Cozy Mystery Writers You Need To Be Reading

Her books are filled with has humor, drama, intrigue, secrets, and suspense.

Christina (C.A.) Larmer tried writing a romance at the age of 13 but pretty soon she’d slaughtered the hero and planted it on the heroine.

It was the beginning of a beautiful love affair that has now resulted in three crime series, including the Amazon best-selling Agatha Christie Book Club, the Ghostwriter mysteries, the Posthumous Mystery series, a domestic suspense novel, and a stand-alone mystery masquerading as a family saga (she’s fooling nobody).

Born and bred in Papua New Guinea, Christina has lived and worked around the world from New York and Los Angeles to London and Sydney.

A journalist, editor, teacher, and mentor, she now runs an indie publishing business from the Byron Bay hinterland, on the east coast of Australia, where she lives with her musician husband, two sons, a devilish cattle dog, and countless koalas and snakes, none of which come close to the villains in her books.

Without a Word

Roxy’s client—PR princess Phoebe Fisher—was just a child when her entire family vanished. She wants Roxy to tell her story now; Roxy’s more interested in the past.

Why did young Phoebe’s family vanish?

How could they do it in just one night?

And what’s the ‘dark and sinister event’ that triggered everything?

As Roxy sorts fact from fiction, detective friend Gilda has a shocking case of her own—a woman has baked to death in a sizzling hot car. They’re calling it “suicide by sunbaking” but is that even possible or could it be something more macabre?

From the best-selling author of the AGATHA CHRISTIE BOOK CLUB comes the much-anticipated seventh installment of the Ghostwriter Mysteries, a fun, fast-paced series for those who love a complex, humorous whodunit with contemporary characters you can fall in love with. This time, Roxy’s got a dog by her side and a secret so scary she’s terrified to tell her mum (let alone her ex-boyfriend Max!).

The Agatha Christie Book Club

Bored with her stodgy old book club and their snooty book choices, Alicia Finlay decides to start a new one—one that’s totally devoted to her favourite crime writer, the indomitable Agatha Christie. As she gathers seven avid mystery buffs together, including a wealthy socialite, a ditzy librarian, a dashing poisons expert and a vintage fashion queen, little does Alicia know, they’re about to stumble into a baffling mystery of their own.

While the new friends sip Darjeeling and discuss their favourite ‘cozy’ crime, one member fails to show and her husband seems oddly unperturbed. When he turns up murdered soon after, the club decides to do as all good meddling sleuths would do and investigate!

So begins the first, fast-paced adventure for the Agatha Christie Book Club, a motley collection of amateur sleuths who must sort the real clues from the red herrings to solve the murder of Arthur Parlour and the mystery of his missing wife.

As the gang uncovers a stream of shifty suspects, they must also look closer to home because each of them is hiding a secret that could crack the case wide open.

A Note Before Dying

In this stand-alone story, ghostwriter Roxy Parker heads to small-town Byron Bay to write the life story of rock legend Jed Moody.

She may be his biggest fan, but the sexy Mick Jagger-lookalike has scores of enemies, so when he is electrocuted on stage, the amateur sleuth can’t help looking their way.

Was Jed murdered by a jilted lover? His jealous wife? An embittered band member?

Or is it the hot newcomer who’s caught Roxy’s eye, the one with the giant chip and the smart sheepdog?

Determined to prove his innocence, Roxy enlists the help of best friend Detective Gilda Maltin. The problem is, Gilda becomes convinced that Roxy has fallen for a cold-blooded killer.

Evil Under the Stars

The latest page-turner in the international bestselling AGATHA CHRISTIE BOOK CLUB series. This time a young woman is discovered dead on a blanket during a moon-light movie, with hundreds of witnesses and not a suspect in sight.

How did no one see the killer strike?

How did no one hear the victim scream?

And how could the mystery-loving book club be lounging nearby and miss the whole event?!

When local detectives hit a brick wall, the amateur sleuths channel their resources to investigate. It soon turns into a battle of wits between the beloved friends and the Homicide Squad, with newcomer Inspector Liam Jackson caught firmly in the middle.

This is a fun, fast-paced adventure for those looking for a well-written, contemporary whodunit with plot twists and turns and an ensemble cast you’ll adore.
