Daily Review: Dance or Die by Liza o’Connor

Betrayal doesn’t have to be the end of the world. If you open your heart, love will find you.
Tess Campbell, mafia princess, has fallen in love with a British prince during his stay in Iowa. He appears equally besotted, having given her his family ring that’s been passed down through the generations.
Still, he asked that she keep his proposal and ring a secret for the time being.
Two weeks into their budding romance, Tess’s father, a psycho mafia don, kidnaps and nearly kills the prince and his Secret Service agent, believing she has taken both as her lovers.
The brutal assault reveals the true character of each man and Tess must face some hard truths, even as she takes control of her destiny to build the finest state park in the country.
The final book of the series is definitely my favorite. But I was worried on many occasions.
The moment Tess discovers someone has ripped the road out of the ground leaving a large gash through the forest, she comprehends her mafia Don father not only can but will tear her world apart unless she returns to him and becomes his obedient daughter.
When the man she loves, Steel, and Secret Service agent who protects him, Dan, are kidnapped, Tess agrees to do whatever her father wants to save them.
Only her father has no intention of letting them live. And they do come very close to dying, despite all Tess’ efforts.
When Steel wakes from his coma, he’s not the same man Tess had fallen for. But oddly, he appears to be the man his parents know.
This is a story of a broken love, followed by discovering you can love again. Betrayal doesn’t have to be the end of the world. If you open your heart, love will find you.

This is the first book I’ve read in this series but slipped right into the story and characters.
Tess is my favorite character and instantly likable. She does whatever she can, including pacifying her mafia father, to save both Steel – a British prince and Dan – his bodyguard.
I liked how Ms. O’Connor explains how Tess, a forest manager, would work the land. I also love happy ending stories and Ms. Conner did not disappoint but left me breathless and content.
I highly recommend this novel if you’re looking for a fabulous Mystery & Suspense romantic tale and addicted to Ms. O’Connor’s writing and stories.

Ms. O’Connor writes stories that have you fully engaged in the book. This was one I couldn’t put down. I had hoped for a happy ending for everyone but I wasn’t looking at the clues.
Just when I thought I knew what would happen…bam! I was blindsided by Steel.
When Ms. O’Connor wraps up a series, she does an amazing job tying up all the loose ends, even those you didn’t notice.
Tess is a wonderful character who really wants to do the right thing.
She is open to love and falls in over her head because she thinks people are genuinely good, even after having a horrible mob boss for a Dad.
I was like Tess, very happy until my eyes were opened and then I couldn’t put the book down. I had to stay up late and finish it. I needed to know there was a happily ever after… and there was…but it didn’t come about the way I thought…Ms. O’Connor made it even better!
